| Overview and Key Features |
This type of lamp is made through an intricate Japanese craftwork method called *Kumiko-zaiku* (in Japanese: 組子細工). Moreover, the wood used to make this lamp is know in Japan as *Kiso-Hinoki* (in Japanese: 木曽桧) from special cypress trees which grows mainly in the Kiso Valley, the age of the trees is estimated to be 250 to 300 years. Beside the wood, Japanese paper called *Washi* (in Japanese: 和紙) is also used to control the brightness of the light. |
